Liminal offer a fresh take on a classic formula - the traditional four-piece rock band. Their sound is modern but meaningful, moody yet invigorating, rock-oriented yet commercial. The Melbourne-based, Australian group combines a love of completely different music genres into a sound that is accessible but completely unique.

Reviews of Liminal's Arts Victoria-funded demo:

"The recent 3-song demo CD... represents something of a quantum leap for Liminal. The tight but fairly conventional indie rock of an earlier incarnation of the band.... has given way to something more bewitching and grand... The stand-out track, Beautiful Day, takes the listener on a journey through the full gamut of emotions. The sombre ambience of the opening gives way to an explosion of electric guitar, which somehow manages to blend seamlessly into a truly regal string section, lifting the song well into a stratosphere of stately radiance. The music of Liminal is built around the vocal virtuosity of Corinna... Corinna has the creative instinct to know just how much of her extraordinary vocal power to release at any given moment... The band she has assembled is likewise well-versed in the art of subtlety and dynamics, leaving plenty of room for each other.. and their singer. As a result, Liminal is the sort of band that always leaves you wanting more."
- Dr. Grouse, 3CR, www.melband.com.au

"A very mellow, ballad-esque intro [to] the opening track Beautiful Day belies what is to follow. Heavy guitars leap out at you from nowhere and the track becomes an epic... Leonine is more bluesy, but with another rousing chorus and a tasteful lead break... Although it's just a three-track demo, there's plenty going on for this Melbourne four-piece, and plenty to like."
- Roddy Scarr, The Buzz, May 2005

Reviews of Liminal's previous release, Galaxy:

"This song sounds like the best soundtrack to the best John Hughes movie that never was.... something of a lost art... reminiscent of the best late '80s - early '90s guitar pop, without drifting into mere imitation.... Liminal is one to watch."
- Clem Bastow, April 15, '03, www.mono.net

"Galaxy is a rocky little number with a very catchy hook and a powerful, driving rhythm section. Singer Corinna's vocals combine wonderfully with guitarist Amber's harmonies to create an ambient mood that sits nicely in contrast to the rock backing."
